Position Overview:
The Sales Director will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and profitability of our spring water company by leading and executing sales strategies, managing a dynamic sales team, and fostering strong customer relationships. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills and a proven track record in achieving sales targets.
Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve company revenue and market share objectives.
- Identify new market opportunities, analyze market trends, and provide insights for product development and expansion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sales strategies with marketing, production, and distribution efforts.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Recruit, train, motivate, and lead the sales team to consistently meet and exceed targets.
- Set clear sales goals, track performance metrics, and provide regular performance feedback.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance sales culture that encourages innovation and teamwork.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and retailers.
- Lead negotiations with potential clients and manage contracts and agreements.
- Address customer concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving.
Sales Operations:
- Oversee the sales process, from lead generation and qualification to closing deals and post-sale support.
- Monitor sales activities, analyze sales data, and generate reports for management review.
- Develop and manage sales budgets, forecasts, and expense control measures.
Market Intelligence and Competitive Analysis:
- Keep abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and changing customer preferences.
- Utilize market insights to develop strategies that enhance the company's competitive positioning.
Strategic Partnerships:
- Identify and establish strategic partnerships that can contribute to sales growth and market expansion.
- Collaborate with distributors, retailers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective distribution and product placement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven track record of at least 7-10 years in progressively responsible sales roles, with 3-5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Experience in the beverage or consumer packaged goods industry, preferably with a focus on bottled water or related products.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable sales strategies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and sales analytics tools.
